The short version

We collect the minimum needed to run the service. We never sell your personal data. "People like you" insights are aggregated and anonymous. You can export or delete everything at any time from your account page.

What we collect

• Account data: name, email, hashed password, optional bio/avatar and preferences you volunteer.
• Usage events: anonymous analytics (searches, product views, saves) tied to a random cookie id and, when signed in, your account. IP addresses are only stored as salted hashes for abuse prevention.
• Community content: reviews, answers, votes you choose to post.

What we never do

• Sell or rent personal data to anyone.
• Expose individual purchase or browsing behaviour — "People like you bought this" uses cohort-level aggregation only, with minimum cohort sizes.
• Share your data with advertisers beyond standard aggregated reporting.

Cookies

Session cookie (sign-in), a remember-me cookie, an anonymous analytics id, and your compare-list in localStorage. No third-party ad-tracking cookies. See the cookie policy.

Your rights

Export all your data (JSON) or permanently delete your account (community posts are anonymized) from Account → Data. Emails: support@example.com.

Retention & security

Passwords are bcrypt-hashed. All database access uses prepared statements. Errors are logged without credentials. Security events (failed logins etc.) are stored with hashed IPs and rotated.
